The Kids App isn’t designed to replace face-to-face communication – It simply gives young people an alternative way to have their voices heard. It provides young people with a tool to have a voice, give feedback, get rewards for engagement, and communicate with their carers more easily.
Capturing Memories
Young people can log their thoughts and feelings using text, emojis, photos, and even voice-to-text, giving them freedom to express themselves in ways that feel natural and accessible. Everything they record, emotions, memories, and reflections, is securely stored and becomes part of a care history journal, which they can request at any time.
This means that a young person can one day look back and hear their own voice, see how they felt, what they shared, and experience their own journey. It’s not just compliance with Article 12 of the UNCRC, it’s about building trust and creating a sense of ownership over their own story.
Monitor Objectives and Earn Rewards
Through the kids app, young people can view and monitor their objectives. Carers and support workers, can choose to set rewards for the young person, and the young people can track their progress easily through the app.
